Cabbie's attacker nabbed

At around 6:30 p.m. on March 28, police driving on the 1200 block of North Clybourn Avenue came across a man leaning against his taxi and nursing a head injury. Upon being approached by the officers, the man said that he had been robbed and attacked by a person later identified as Andre T. Pughsley, of the 1400 block of North Washtenaw Avenue.

Meet Borys, an adorable Chihuahua/Rat Terrier mix! At 5-years-old, Borys was given up to PAWS Chicago after his guardians had a baby and couldn’t keep him any longer. He is very affectionate and loyal. Borys is happiest when sitting in laps, although he craves exercise and enjoys frequent walks and playtime. At around 1:30 a.m. on March 27, an elderly couple was waiting for a ride outside of a pizza shop on the 1200 block of North Wells Street when an unknown man approached them and asked if they knew how to get to Van Buren Street. The couple replied “No” and told the man to leave them alone, at which point he walked up the street and stopped to talk to another man.

Sasha is a pretty, 1-year-old Shepherd-Rottweiler mix. She is very social and likes making new friends, both human and canine. Sasha is curious about the world around her and thinks everything is new and interesting. She learns quickly and is easily house and crate-trained. Sasha already knows “sit” and “stay” and will do anything for a treat which keeps training fun and exciting for her! Dead woman pulled from lake

At around 11:30 a.m. on March 26, a lakefront resident notified police that he had spotted on object resembling a human body floating in Lake Michigan near the shore between 1350 and 1400 N. Lake Shore Drive. About an hour later, officers from the fire department’s marine unit recovered the body from the choppy waters about 30 feet of the shore.

For years, Ald. Michele Smith (43rd) has had her eye on a stretch of North Clark Street in Lincoln Park where storefront rentals don’t seem to stick. The corridor, bordered roughly by Diversey and Armitage avenues in Lincoln Park, is home to a number of popular stores and restaurants, such as the Akira clothing boutiques and the Korean eatery Del Seoul, which help drive customers into the area on date nights and attract pedestrian shoppers on sunny afternoons.
