Pulls cash from ATM, gets robbed

A man used his debit card to withdraw $550 from a bank in the 600 block of W. Division Nov. 3 at 9:48 a.m. While he waited for the bus, another man approached, stuck a gun in victim’s right side, said, “Alright pussy, you know what to do.” The man with the gun started going through the victim’s pockets. The victim told the offender he would give the offender money if he did not shoot. The offender took the $550 and ran into a building a building on N. Larrabee. The victim notified police, who sent a description of the offender to nearby officers, but the offender could not be located.

iPhone jacked

A woman was walking down a stairway in a building in the 1200 block of N. Burling Nov. 5 at 2:30 a.m. when a man pushed down the stairs, grabbed her by the neck and took her iPhone. The man then threw the woman into a wall and fled, according to a police report.

Push-and-rob

A woman walked down the street in the 400 block of W. North Nov. 4 at 5:30 p.m. when an unknown offender pushed her from behind. She landed on the sidewalk. The offender snatched her purse containing $200, miscellaneous identification and credit cards. The offender fled while the woman walked to a nearby restaurant and reported the crime. Police did not locate the offender.

University student robbed

A university student was walking near the 1200 block of W. Fullerton Nov. 5 at 4:08 a.m. when a man wearing a gray skullcap and a hooded sweatshirt approached and asked him for money. The student gave the man four quarters. The offender asked for the student’s cell phone. The student refused, but the offender said, “This could end bad for you.” The student handed over his cell phone. The offender told him to count to five before turning around, then fled and was not caught.

Burglar busted

A police officer on regular patrol noticed a man looking into parked vehicles in the100 block of W. Huron Nov. 10 at 12:24 a.m. Eventually, the man forced open the front door of a nearby hair studio and entered. He opened a glass display case in the front hallway and removed some Aveda cosmetic items. The officer radioed for back-up. When back-up arrived, the officers apprehended the criminal. A protective search revealed a spring-loaded metallic center punch, which is often used as a burglary tool as well as eleven watches and a watch band. The offender was arrested and charged with attempted burglary.

Call the feds: bank robbed

A man walked in to a bank located on the 400 block of N. LaSalle Nov. 5 at 5:03 p.m. and placed a note on the teller counter that said “Give me 100’s, 50’s and 20’s. No dye pack or gps.” The offender said he had a gun but kept his hand in his right pocket and never showed it. The teller took an unknown amount of money and put it on the counter. The offender took the money and the note and shoved them into his jacket pocket. He fled. Police were notified and toured the area, but did locate the guy.

Bike, buh-bye

A man parked his Gary Fisher near the 600 block of E. Grand with a cable lock before entering Navy Pier. When he returned to his bike Nov. 7 at 1:45 p.m. it was missing.

Robbers push, grab, rob

A man was walking in the 1100 block of N. LaSalle Nov. 8 at 7:10 a.m. when two unknown offenders came up from behind, pushing him and grabbing the man by his neck. They took $600 from his pocket.

Distraction, then robbery

A woman sat on a CTA bus near the 300 block of W. Chicago Nov. 7 at 6:53 p.m. when a man sitting nearby told her there was a cut in the paper bag she was carrying. When she looked for the cut, the man unzipped her purse and removed her wallet, containing $100. The man exited the bus at Orleans and Chicago and fled in unknown direction. Police requested CTA bus video of the incident for their investigation.
