The owner of a furniture store on 300 block of W. Ontario opened up on the morning of November 6 to find that three laptops had been stolen from the premises overnight. Upon surveying the building, police were unable to identify an entry point for robbery, and the owner believed that the suspect had entered through the rear door with a key, which only the property manager had a copy of, he said.
Tap tap
A man had just pulled into a parking spot next to his home on the 2000 block of N. Dayton at around 10:00 pm. on November 2 when two men approached his car. One of the men took out a handgun, tapped it on the driver’s side window and told the man to get out, which he did. The victim told police that the offender then pointed the gun at his head and told him to hand over his keys, phone and wallet. He hesitated, and the man pushed the gun against the right side of his face. The victim then handed over the items, and the two men entered his car and drove away. Police toured the area but were unable to find the suspects.

Upon searching him, the security guard found that the 19-year-old male student was carrying three cans of spray pain, which he admitted to taking from the site. The student was taken into custody, but no burglary charges were filed.

Give it up
Two unknown suspects approached a man getting out of his car on the 400 block of W. Grant on the evening of November 3. One man produced a gun and told the driver to hand over his possessions, and the man gave them his wallet, which contained $40 and various ID and credit cards, and his phone.

Tense deal
On the evening of November 2, a man was walking through an alley to get to his home on the 1400 block of N. Orleans when two men approached him and demanded that he hand over his wallet. As one of the men loaded a round into the chamber of a handgun, the man told the offenders that he would give them his money but not his ID and credit cards. They agreed, and the man gave them $60 in cash. One of the offenders told him to walk east and they fled the other way.
