Thousands stolen

An unknown suspect made off with $45,000 after breaking into a restaurant on the 900 block of W. Weed. The owner told police that the incident occurred sometime between 10 p.m. on October 31 and 8 a.m. the following morning. An employee of a cleaning company that regularly works at the establishment said that, upon arrival, the crew found the front door open and the back office in disarray. Apparently, the offender had cut a hole in a bolted-down safe in the office and taken the money before leaving through the rear door.
Robbed on the L
A 25-year-old man was robbed while riding on at CTA train in the early morning of October 30. The victim was approached by a man who sat next to him and said, “Give me your money, I have a gun.” Another man then sat down and started going through his pockets, taking his wallet, phone and various bank cards. The offenders got on at the Fullerton stop and the man rode to the Belmont stop, where he exited and contacted police.

At 1 p.m. on October 29, a woman was walking on the 0-100 block of W. Huron when an unknown male suspect came up behind her, grabbed her by the neck, took her iPhone out of her hand and threw her on the ground. The man and another person suspected of being involved both fled in different directions. The woman refused medical attention.
Men fighting
A man told police that another man had stabbed him as a result of a verbal argument that took place at around 1 a.m. on October 29. The man said that he had punched a window during the dispute, at which point the unknown offender took out a knife and cut him on the right arm. The incident occurred on the 2300 block of N. Sheffield. The man was treated at Illinois Masonic.
