A man was walking in the 1300 block of N. Clybourn Oct. 26 at 8:10 p.m. when two men approached. One of the men said, “Give it up. I’m gonna shoot the s— out of you.” He then displayed a chrome revolver and pointed it at the victim. The second man then pushed the victim. The victim handed over his wallet which contained miscellaneous identification, credit cards and $25. Both offenders then fled east on Cleveland. Police did not locate the offenders.
Faker buys fake facial hair
A man entered a costumer store in the 1200 block of N. Clark Oct. 20 at 12:22 p.m. and purchased a fake mustache/beard set with a $20 bill. After the offender left, the manager examined the $20 bill and realized it was a fake. He called police, who notified the Secret Service of the crime.
The bartending burglar
A man returned to his house in the 1100 block of N. Dearborn Oct. 26 at 7 a.m. and noticed a window leading to his basement space was broken. The man found nine bottles of wine, six bottles of Johnny Walker Red Label, a bottle of Campari and two bottles of Pernod missing.
House keys stolen
A man was walking in the 500 block of N. LaSalle Oct. 21 at 11:08 p.m. when a 20-year-old male wearing a black hoodie approached from behind and put him in a choke hold while another offender approached and punched the victim in the face. A police reports says the offenders stole a black nylon pouch with keys to the victim’s house and then fled. The victim sustained swelling over his left eye.
Man shoots people on his birthday
Officers were performing traffic and crowd control in the 1300 block of N. Kingsbury St. Oct. 22 at 2:58 a.m. as an area bar was closing when multiple gun shots were fired. Officers observed people running away. A victim approached police and told them he’d been shot in the right foot and said the shots came from a white Dodge Magnum fleeing south on Halsted. The victim told police he had a verbal altercation with the offender when the offender said, “Watch out n—. Who the f— is you? It’s my birthday.” As the victim walked away, the driver in the white car allegedly shot at him. Police transported the victim to Northwestern Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Man robbed on Division
A man was walking west in the 100 block of W. Division Oct. 22 at 10:15 a.m. after exiting a CTA train at Clark Street. A man approached him from behind and placed a hard object against his side and said, “Give me what you have in your pockets.” The victim gave the offender his work-issued cell phone and a wallet containing $50. The offender fled. Police toured the area, but did not locate the offender.
CTA bus batterer strikes again
A man entered a CTA bus with his mother in the 2300 block of N. Clark Oct. 17 at 12:50 p.m. and headed toward the back of the bus. Another man started to mumble at them. The mumbler grabbed the man and pushed him to the bus floor. The bus driver stopped the bus and started walking toward the back to confront the offender, who then fled. The bus driver told police the offender has a court case pending for assaulting another CTA driver. Police could not locate the offender.
Delivery driver robbed at gunpoint
A man was making a delivery to a business located in the first hundred block of E. Ohio St. Oct. 25 at 5:46 a.m. when a another man approached him from behind, pointed a blue steel handgun at his head and said, “Give me your money.” The victim handed over $65 and the offender fled.
Construction cone smashes windshield
A woman was driving her 2009 Black Infinity in the 500 block of N. St. Clair Oct. 25 at 12:31 a.m. when someone threw an orange construction cone from the upper Illinois Street Bridge. The cone landed on her windshield and cracked it. The offender fled in an unknown direction and was not located.
