An 80-year-old man living in the 500 block of West Delaware Street was the victim of a violent home invasion on Dec. 14. The victim told police that at around 1:30 a.m. a man knocked on his door and asked him for a dollar.

Argument leads to stabbing

A couple's verbal altercation escalated into a stabbing that left one in serious condition on the evening of Dec. 9. A witness told police that the man and woman were arguing in his apartment in the 100 block of West Chestnut when the man ran into the kitchen, dumped all of the silverware on the floor and picked up a steak knife.

Late night beat down

A 39-year-old man was jumped by a group of men after he left a club on the 300 block of W. Ontario at 1:30 a.m. on November 25. The man, an Oak Brook resident, told police that the five men approached him from behind while he was getting into his car and proceeded to push him to the ground and beat him with closed fists.

While walking on the 800 block of N. State at around 6 p.m. on November 23, two women were approached by a man who accosted them and attempted to take their purses. The 56-year-old South Side resident, pushed one of the women to the ground and began kicking her and taking money from her pockets.

Tourist trap

A man from Tucson, Arizona and a Chicago woman were exiting a restaurant on the 800 block of N. Kingsbury at around 1:00 a.m. on November 10, when the couple was approached by four young men. One of the men shoved the man and said, "Where do you think you’re going?"
