A stick-up crew walked away with the pot at a poker game during the early hours of Sept. 15.
At around 2:00 a.m., police responded to a call of a burglary in progress at a residence on the 1300 block of North Clybourn Avenue. Upon arrival, officers observed three large poker tables in the third floor apartment of the building.
According to a resident, about 11 people were playing poker when an unidentified man broke in through the back door and entered the apartment, brandishing a golf club, and asked “Where’s Bob and Eric?” The man then opened the front door and let in two other men, one holding a pistol and the other displaying a revolver.
The offenders then instructed the players to get on the ground and empty their pockets, which they did. One of the victims told police that the men put their belongings, which included approximately $13,661 in cash, into a pink Victoria’s Secret bag.
The offenders then proceeded to go through the house and remove two televisions, one of which was later found under a staircase in the building after the men left. None of the victims were injured during the incident.
Woman mugged in Lincoln Park
A 25-year-old woman was walking on the 2200 block of North Lincoln Avenue when she was approached by two unidentified men around 12:30 a.m. on Sept. 16.
One of the men grabbed her from behind with his arms around her neck while the other hit her in the face and demanded that she hand over her wallet.
The victim complied and the two men fled northbound with the wallet, which contained $20 in cash and various ID and credit cards. The woman sustained injuries to the face as a result of the attack, but later refused medical attention.

The suspect, who was believed to 18-years old, then fled in an unknown direction.
Jewelry goes missing
On the morning of Sept. 12, a 76-year-old woman living on the 200 block of East Chestnut Street discovered that a bag of jewelry was missing from her nightstand.
The contents of the bag included a platinum diamond ring, a carved ivory necklace and a pair of pearl and gold earrings, totaling a value of $25,000.
Police believe that the person who took the jewelry entered the residence through the front door. The victim was away from her home at the time of the incident.
Mugged outside a bar
While walking on the first block of East Illinois Street at around 2:45 a.m. on Sept. 11, a 37-year-old man was attacked and robbed by three unknown male suspects.
The victim told police that the he had just left a bar when one of the offenders struck him from behind, knocked him to the ground and began stomping on his back, yelling “Give me your f****** money!”
The two other men held the victim down while the attacker went through his wallet, demanding his pin and all the while warning him not to contact police because they had his license and home address.
The offenders then fled, taking with them a $6,000 silver Rolex watch and various ID and credit cards. Though he sustained injuries on his hands, knees and back of the head, the man did not seek medical attention following the incident nor did he immediately call police, because he was embarrassed, he later said.
Exercise equipment shop robbed
While opening up shop on the morning of Sept. 14, a store manager at the 2nd Wind exercise equipment store at 1953 N. Clybourn Ave. returned to the front room to find that a man was standing in the gym with his back turned to him.
The manager approached the man and asked if he could help him, at which point the unidentified man turned around, pointed a gun at him and commanded him to get in the bathroom. The victim complied, and the man barricaded the door with an exercise machine.
The offender then proceeded to remove a total of $3,615 in cash from the gym’s register and money bag, as well as an iPad 2 and the manager’s wallet, before fleeing. Police contacted a nearby bank to request security footage of the area at the time of the incident.
