Police arrested a 50-year old man identified as a suspect in two separate burglaries on the night of August 30. The first break-in, at the office of an ad agency on the 500 block of N. Clark, occurred around 9:30 p.m. Upon entering the premise, the man was spotted by an employee of the firm who was working late that evening.

A 55-year-old woman reported at 3:15 p.m. August 13 a strong-arm robbery in an elevator on the 700 block of N. LaSalle. A man wearing a bright pink shirt reached into the first floor elevator and grabbed a necklace from around the victim’s neck.

Police officers are asking Lincoln Park residents to take extra precautions following an attempted criminal sexual assault that occurred on August 8. At 11 a.m. that day, police say a women was entering her apartment building in the 2000 block of N. Sheffield.

A 55-year-old man driving a white Lexus on the 100 block of W. Ontario hit a 1994 Toyota Camry on August 15. While fleeing the scene, Anthony McCoy then allegedly crashed into a 2009 Hyundai on the 500 block of N. Halsted.

A 27-year-old man from Ohio told police that he was attacked and robbed by two men on the corner of State and Superior while walking back to his hotel room at 1:20 a.m. on August 11.

A 63-year old man told police that he was robbed on the evening of July 23 on the 200 block of W. Division. The man said that the alleged offender, known by people in the neighborhood as "Slack," approached from behind, placed his forearm around the man's neck and said, "You be still, pop."

$30K robbery on Mag Mile

At around 4:20 p.m. on July 21, police responded to a hold-up alarm at a financial services outlet in the 600 block on N. Michigan. Upon arrival, employees told police that a man who had been at the store the previous day came in that afternoon and said to one of the tellers, "I don't want anyone to get hurt, I have a gun."

Trouble in the zoo bathroom

On July 19, a man visiting the Lincoln Park Zoo entered a bathroom in the tiger house and found three men taking pictures of each other. One of the men took a picture of the man, 54, while he used the bathroom facilities. The man reported the incident to employees at the gift shop, who then called police.

Jewelry store hit on Wells

Witnesses told police that around 2:05 p.m. July 12 three men entered a jewelry store in the 700 block of N. Wells and lifted up the display glass in one of the cases.
