Clinton, an exuberant 16-week-old Labrador Retriever/Pit Bull Terrier puppy, was rescued from Chicago Animal Care and Control in June. He adores other dogs and humans and melts into a puddle of tail wags and puppy kisses when greeting people! Smart and curious, Clinton is hoping for a family who will take him for lots of walks and enroll him in an obedience class.

Grant Park paying for 270 new trees with money from Lollapalooza

Every year, Lollapalooza invades the South Loop and Grant Park, and hordes of concertgoers make thorough use of all the park has to offer. They can be a bit rough on the flora at times, but Lollapalooza gives back - with cash. Since the festival began its tenure in the park back in 2005, they’ve given a chunk of money back to the park district every year through its Parkways Foundation.

Taste of Chicago taking over

Get ready for another week of ribs, packed el cars and more tourists than you can shake a turkey leg at: Taste of Chicago hits this Friday. The annual festival won't charge admission, as was controversially proposed earlier this year as the city pondered outsourcing them to a private contractor - some of whom had proposed charging people to get in.

Mr. Lucky and Snowball are fun and feisty two-year-old Chihuahua mixes in search of a loving new family. These brothers grew up the same home, and were given up by their previous owners to Animal Care and Control in late April. They came to PAWS Chicago together, and can’t stand to be separated.

Baby dolphin born at Shedd Aquarium

A baby white-sided dolphin was born at the Shedd Aquarium Friday morning. Shortly after the 8:47 a.m. birth, the calf swam to the surface, took its first breath and began to swim around the Secluded Bay.
