Honor Flight at Oak Street Beach

Based on 2008 statistics, America is losing World War II veterans at the rate of approximately 1,000 per day. Honor Flight, a non-profit organization, takes World War II veterans for a day of fun and sightseeing in Washington D.C. for absolutely free. The group will hold a benefit from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Aug. 13, at the Oak Street Beachstro, located at Oak Street and the lakefront. The benefit will feature a barbecue lunch, beverages and entertainment. Call 773-326-2208 for more information.
