Meet Merle
Merle is a beautiful, brave German Shepherd with a heart of gold. This amazing girl came to PAWS Chicago after she was rescued from a puppy mill. Merle spent the first eight years of her life behind bars, while her puppies were sold for profit. Despite her dismal circumstances, it’s easy to see Merle’s kind spirit and friendly disposition. After spending some time with a foster family to learn how to live in a home, Merle is ready to be adopted!
This petite girl is very gentle, and can be shy until she gets to know you. She is compatible with cats and also very dog-social! She is extremely affectionate and loves to snuggle. Merle is house-trained as long as she is taken on regular walks. She is easy-going and will be a devoted companion to the family who can give her shelter and unconditional love. Although the first eight years of Merle’s life were a nightmare, she still has faith that one day she will find a loving home and family to call her very own.
Meet Twiggy
Twiggy is a one-year-old brown tabby. When she first came to PAWS Chicago, it was clear that life had been rough for her. Thin as a rail, very shy, and still nursing one little kitten, Twiggy was sent home with a foster family. After a week in her foster home, she seemed to understand that she was safe, and her sweet personality began to emerge. Twiggy is very clean and neat, and it’s easy to see how beautiful she is, inside and out. Her velvety coat is a dappled with silver and gold, and she has a pretty face and a thick plume of a tail. This sweet girl purrs when you rub her cheeks, and adores being near her people friends. She likes to sleep on your bed and greet you at the door when you come home. Plus, she comes when she’s called–especially if you’re holding a bag of cat treats! She’s come a long way since being rescued and is ready for a lifetime of love in her forever home.
