Did you get an iPad for the holidays, or a new computer? Is your old laptop sitting around gathering dust?
Well, no need to use it as an awkwardly-shaped paperweight or coaster anymore: Give it to a Lakeview magnet school and save some cash with your tax-deductible donation.
The PTA of Chicago Public Schools’ Hawthorne Scholastic Academy at School and Clifton Streets is collecting used laptops — that are still in good working order — for its students.
You can drop your laptops off at the school, 3319 N. Clifton Street, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. The computers should be in good working order, with cords and accessories if possible, and should have all personal information deleted from the hard drive.
