Outgoing Ald. Vi Daley gets behind controversial project

Ald. Vi Daley (43rd) announced this week that she will give her blessing to the developers of the hotly contested Lincoln Park Hospital redevelopment. In a statement released on Tuesday, Daley said that she would no longer delay the forthcoming redevelopment, which envisions office space, residential units and a 20,000-square-foot Fresh Market grocery store developed at the three-acre hospital campus, saying that she planned to vote to approve the project.

Girl Scouts robbed

A man made off with an estimated $1,000 in Girl Scout cookie money on the evening of Feb. 26. The victim reporting the incident, a 45-year-old woman, told police that at around 5:00 p.m. the unknown suspect attempted to grab a box of money from a table on a sidewalk on the 400 block of W. Division Street.
