A robber came up nearly empty-handed when he broke into a bank after hours on May 27. The man entered the North Bank at 431 N. Clark St. from a rooftop entrance at about 4:00 a.m. that day. The suspect managed to kick through a panel in the ceiling of a fourth floor bathroom and proceeded to check the desk drawers in an administrative office area while being recorded by the bank’s security cameras. Most of the office doors were locked, and it appeared that the man was only able to find $4 in cash before giving up and leaving the building.
